We believe that in this church we stand in the presence of God, joining the saints and heavenly hosts in prayer and worship. We are glad to welcome you before and after the services — but during worship itself, we set conversation aside to stand together in reverent attention to God.
We worship as Christians always have, using the postures of prayer found in Scripture. We stand, we bow, and we prostrate. Each posture gives bodily expression to the prayers we lift together in worship.
Orthodox worship engages the whole person — mind, heart, and body. We make the Sign of the Cross in prayer, and we venerate icons as we would honor a photograph of someone we love.
Come as you are able — modest and comfortable is welcome. Children are dear to God's house; loving parents may step outside with little ones who need a moment, and return when ready.
“The Orthodox Church is evangelical, but not Protestant. It's orthodox, but not Jewish. It's catholic, but not Roman. It isn't non‑denominational — it's pre‑denominational. It is the Faith of the Apostles, believed, taught, and defended since the day of Pentecost, two thousand years ago.”
